The Camp Hi-Ho Scholarship Fund

Spreading the joy of summer camp

In 2018, we launched the Camp Hi-Ho Scholarship Fund to help more children experience the joy and adventure of summer camp. Our mission is to offer a safe, open environment for kids to unplug, connect with nature, and discover their interests. We recognize that attending summer camp is a privilege not all families can afford, so we established our scholarship program to give more children the opportunity to experience the magic of camp, even if it might not otherwise be within reach.

Scholarship Partners

We’re proud to partner with West End School and Kentucky Refugee Ministries. We chose to partner with these organizations because their missions align with our vision to make summer camp accessible to all children, regardless of background or life circumstances.

In 2023, The Camp Hi-Ho Scholarship Fund was able to contribute $1,800 to Kids Cancer Alliance, supporting two children’s attendance at Indian Summer Camp, a unique program designed specifically for kids with cancer and their siblings.

You make this possible!

Thanks to generous donors, children in our scholarship program experienced swimming, fishing, horseback riding, and more for the very first time!

This year, we’re excited to expand our Camp Hi-Ho Scholarship Fund to benefit even more children, including refugee kids from West End School, Kentucky Refugee Ministries and children battling cancer through Kids Cancer Alliance. Your support makes this possible—please consider donating to give more kids the gift of unforgettable camp memories!

Learn More About our partners

West End School is an independent, tuition-free institution dedicated to transforming the lives of children from underserved backgrounds through holistic education and character development. By empowering students to reach their full potential, the school prepares them for future success. Our partnership with WES enables Camp Hi-Ho to provide these students with enriching summer camp experiences, creating lasting memories filled with joy and adventure.

Kids Cancer Alliance (KCA) offers a variety of camp and recreational activities year-round for children with cancer and their families. Because of specific health constraints, many kids with cancer are unable to attend Camp Hi-Ho, so we want to enable them to be able to attend a camp specifically suited for their unique healthcare needs. Kids Cancer Alliance runs Indian Summer Camp, a camp that is designed for oncology patients.

Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) is an outreach community that advocates for and provides resettlement and comprehensive social services to refugees displaced from their homes all over the world. In 2016, KRM helped place over 430 students in schools across Jefferson County. Our hope in partnering with KRM is for Camp Hi-Ho to serve as a safe, welcoming and fun-filled community resource for refugee children to experience American summer camp.
